I’ve been running my small Minecraft server on Server Miner, the uptime has been good overall. There was one little hiccup where it dropped for a bit, and I’m not saying it was definitely on their side, but it did feel like something quietly got fixed without much being said.

Most days, though, it just stays online and I don’t really have to babysit it, which is exactly what I wanted. It’s not perfect, but for what I’m using it for, it’s been reliable enough.

It does what it’s supposed to do, so I can’t really complain too much. That said, the control panel feels a bit clunky and confusing at times. I’m always a little careful when changing settings because it’s not immediately clear what everything does, and I don’t want to accidentally mess something up.

I gave ServerMiner a try for a little while, mostly because I wanted something simple to get a server going without messing around too much. The setup was fine, and to be fair, everything did work for the time I used it. I didn’t really run into any big technical problems or anything like that. After comparing things a bit more, though, I started feeling like the pricing was hard to justify. For what I was paying, the specs didn’t seem as good as what I could get elsewhere for less. I ended up cancelling after a short time because it just didn’t feel like the value was there for me

I used Server Miner for a small Minecraft server and at first it was fine. But once a few more friends started joining, it just didn’t keep up well. Every upgrade felt like I was guessing what would actually help, and even after paying more, we were still getting lag spikes.

Moving between plans was also more annoying than I expected. I kept having to figure out the same stuff over and over, and it got old fast having to explain the issues again like they weren’t obvious. It might be okay for a tiny server, but if you think your server is going to grow, I wouldn’t bother using it again

Just a quick warning for anyone setting up a server with mods and plugins: this worked well for me. I got my server running with most of the stuff I needed without too much hassle. I did run into one plugin issue, so don’t expect everything to be completely smooth, but support helped me sort it out quickly. Overall, a solid experience.

I’m not sure if I’m missing something, but using the file manager has been a pain. I couldn’t access my files properly, and some folders kept acting weird or not opening the way I expected. Has anyone else run into this?

I got the server started without too much trouble, it don’t really take that long. A few steps was a little unclear though, so I had to click around and figure things out myself. It’s not bad, but it wasn’t perfect either.

I’d been using the backup service for a while and, didn’t think much about it day to day because it seemed like everything was running fine. The setup was straightforward, and I kind of assumed that as long as the backups were happening, I’d be covered if something went wrong. Unfortunately, when I actually needed to restore my files, the restore failed twice. I reached out to support hoping they could sort it out quickly, but they weren’t really much help. Disappointing experience overall.

To be fair, it might work fine if you just need the basic setup, but I was hoping for more control over the settings. It felt locked down, and I couldn’t really tweak things the way I needed to for my setup, so it ended up not being very useful for me.

I liked some parts of the experience, and there were a few helpful bits in the tutorials, but the docs didn’t help me as much as I expected. Some sections felt a bit outdated, and I had to reread things a few times because the explanations were confusing. It’s not terrible, but it definitely could be clearer and more up to date

The support team did reply, so there’s that. It just took longer than I would’ve expected for what seemed like a simple question.

I was really hoping the DDoS protection would be more reliable, but my server still kept dropping whenever attacks hit. The security setup just didn’t feel solid, and support mostly gave me generic replies that didn’t really fix anything. I also got the impression there are too many policy loopholes where they can say protection is included, but then certain situations don’t actually seem covered. I was still dealing with lag and downtime, which is frustrating when you’re paying for hosting

I tried using it for a while, but the server seemed to lag a lot and it crashed more than I’d expect. I’m not totally sure what was causing it, but it definitely felt unstable most of the time...

Setup was fine and I got the server running without much trouble, but wow, the lag was frustrating. My friends kept getting random spikes and rubberbanding even when barely anything was going on. I messaged support and they did try to help, but it never really got fixed. Not a total disaster, but I wouldn’t call it great either.

I expected support to be more helpful and responsive, but that wasn’t my experience. I waited several days for a reply, and when they finally got back to me, it felt like a generic copy-paste answer that didn’t really address my issue.

The server itself worked fine, nothing really to complain about there. But after dealing with confusing billing and then trying to figure out how to cancel, I was just tired of the whole thing. It wasn’t as clear or straightforward as it should’ve been, and I didn’t feel like chasing another support process just to stop a service...

I tried getting my modpack installed and it kept failing or leaving stuff out like the setup had no clue what it was doing. Support was painfully slow and, not very useful when they finally replied. I ended up wasting my whole evening poking around settings for something that should’ve been simple. Ridiculous experience, and I’m not bothering with this again
